Botanic Gardens Wellbeing Walk
Next walk: 7th August
On the first Thursday of each month, we visit the Botanic Gardens for a group walk. It's a safe and friendly way to meet new people and get outdoors, which is great for physical and mental health.
Meet at 10.45am at St Paul's for entry to the Gardens at 11am, and join us afterwards for Lunch Club at 12.30pm at St Paul's.
If you're hoping to come for the first time, and have any questions, get in touch with Emma our community development worker on emma@stpaulscambridge.org.uk or 01223 576899.
Free entry is granted thanks to the Botanics community membership scheme, which aims to welcome those who face barriers to accessing the Gardens - whether these barriers are financial, physical, psychological or social. Carers are able to attend with those who have additional needs, and mobility scooters are available to borrow.
Thursday Creatives
Thursdays 11am-12pm (all except 1st of the month)
We are a friendly, informal group which meet at 11am on Thursdays for fun creative activities. No particular artistic skills or experience needed!
It is open to all adults, with a warm welcome to anyone with disabilities of any form and/or mental health challenges.
All activities are free, no need to book - just turn up! You are welcome to stay for Lunch Club afterwards, which is £4 for a homecooked two course meal.
Trips and Outings
We organise regular day trips and smaller outings, usually on Thursdays. Some are free and for some we ask for a contribution towards the cost of the trip.
Past outings have included visiting Anglesey Abbey and Shepreth Wildlife Park (see the meerkats!), as well as afternoon tea in the Orchard Tea Garden in Grantchester.
Upcoming outings:
2pm Thursday 24th July: visiting Newnham College to see their beautiful gardens and buildings, followed by social time in the college Iris Cafe. Free (but buy your own drinks at the cafe). Leaving from St Paul's by minibus 1.30pm, returning 4pm.
All Day Thursday 28th August: seaside trip to Hunstanton, leaving from St Paul's at 9.30am. The outing costs £10.
Get in touch with our community development worker at emma@stpaulscambridge.org.uk, to find out more and book. We prioritise our Lunch Club members but new people are always welcome too.
