Botanic Gardens walk
Next walk: 3rd July
On the first Thursday of each month, Thursday Lunch Club members visit the Botanic Gardens for a group walk. Free entry is granted thanks to the Botanics community membership scheme, which aims to welcome those who face barriers to accessing the Gardens - whether these barriers are financial, physical, psychological or social.
If this is you, and you would like to join us for the first time, please sign up with our Community Development Worker: emma@stpaulscambridge.org.uk. Carers are able to attend with those who have additional needs, and mobility scooters are available to borrow. Social Prescribers do get in touch.
Meet at 10.45am at St Paul's for entry to the Gardens at 11am, and join us afterwards for lunch at 12.30pm at St Paul's.
Thursday Creatives
Thursdays 11am-12pm (all except 1st of the month)
We are a friendly, informal group which meet at 11am on Thursdays for fun creative activities. No particular artistic skills or experience needed!
It is open to all adults, with a warm welcome to anyone with disabilities of any form and/or mental health challenges.
All activities are free, no need to book - just turn up! You are welcome to stay for Thursday Lunch Club afterwards, which is £4 for a homecooked two course meal.
Trips and Outings
We organise regular day trips and smaller outings, usually on Thursdays. Some are free and for some we ask for a contribution towards the cost of the trip.
Past outings have included visiting Anglesey Abbey and Shepreth Wildlife Park (see the meerkats!), as well as afternoon tea in the Orchard Tea Garden in Grantchester.
Upcoming outings:
2pm Thursday 19th June: tour of the University Zoology museum. Free.
2pm Thursday 24th July: visiting Newnham College to see their beautiful gardens and buildings, followed by social time in the college Iris Cafe. Free (but buy your own drinks at the cafe).
All Day Thursday 28th August: seaside trip to Hunstanton. More details on timings, bookings, and payments to come!
Get in touch with our Community Development Worker at emma@stpaulscambridge.org.uk, to find out more and book. We prioritise our Lunch Club members but new people are always welcome too.
