    The Lord’s Prayer

    Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

    Thy kingdom come, they will be doneon earth, as it is in heaven.

    Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,

    as we forgive those who trespass against us.

    And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,

    for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever, Amen.

    The Collect for Purity

    Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open,

    all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid:

    Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,

    that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy Name;

    through Christ our Lord. Amen.

    The Prayer of St Richard of Chichester

    Thanks be to you, Lord Jesus Christ,for all the benefit which you have given me;for all the pains and insults which you have borne for me.O most merciful Redeemer, friend and brother,may I know you more clearly,love you more dearly,and follow you more nearly,day by day,Amen.

    A Prayer attributed to St Francis of Assissi

    Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.Where there is hatred, let me bring love;Where there is injury, pardonwhere there is doubt, faith;Where there is despair, hope;where there is darkness light;Where there is sadness, joy.O divine Master, grant that I may seeknot so muchTo be consoled, as to console,To be understood, as to understand;to be loved, as to love.For it is in giving that we receive;It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;It is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

    The Aaronic Blessing

    Unto God’s gracious mercy and protection we commit you.The Lord bless you and keep you.The Lord make his face to shine upon you,and be gracious to you.The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

    (Numbers 6:24-6)

    From Night Prayer

    Visit this place, O Lord, we pray,

    and drive far from it the snares of the enemy;

    may your holy angels dwell with us and guard us in peace,

    and may your blessing be always upon us;

    through Jesus Christ our Lord.
