In partnership with two other local churches, St Paul’s has established a local Foodbank, a charity established by the Trussall Trust, working throughout the UK to help those in short term crisis. The Cambridge Foodbank offers free food to people twice a week who have been identified by CAB, GPs and other health professionals and Social Services.
It is held every weekday in Cambridge, and at St Paul’s on a Monday (4pm to 5.30pm) and Friday (2.30pm to 4.30pm). As well as distributing food, the trained volunteers are also there to chat, provide a cup of tea, and are able to suggest who clients can contact with any other problems. If clients have the correct authorisation and have brought their metre cards with them, money can be put on their gas and electric cards.
All are welcome to accept these offers of hospitality. If you are interested or know someone who might benefit from attending one of these meals on a regular basis then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
