St Paul's, Hills Road, Cambridge is a Church of England (Anglican) Parish Church within the Diocese of Ely. Vicar, Michael Beckett has been here for over 21 years and was joined in 2013 by curate Jon Canessa. We hold a worship service every day of the week (except Saturday) in the Chapel and in the Main Hall on Sundays. There is something for everyone and all are welcome whether of longstanding faith or none. To find out what services are happening this week check this week's St Paul's Family News.
Morning Service 10.30am
Our morning worship is relatively informal, following the church’s liturgical year and drawing on a variety of spiritual traditions, music and worship styles. Children remain in church for the first part of the service, leaving for age appropriate activities.
Tea, (real) coffee and biscuits are served after the service.
Celebrating the Seasons
These services are held approximately once a month. They reflect our commitment to observe the church year, make our worship family friendly and to offer hospitality. Children remain in the service throughout and a more interactive style of worship takes place. Breakfast, and/or lunch is served as part of the morning together. Details are always in our Family News.
We gather round the Lord’s table every Sunday, either in the evening or morning service. In the morning it is usually on the second and fourth Sunday, but this does vary. Communion is also celebrated every Friday in the chapel at 12.00am.
At certain times of year, seasonal services are added, either to reflect the church year, for instance, Remembrance, All Saints, Christmas and Easter, or to explore alternative forms of worship from a range of traditions, e.g. Taizé.
Evening Service 6pm take place in the Chapel every week following a traditional format of hymns and sermon. On the last Sunday in the month the services is held in the Main Hall with an alternative worship style led by different members of the congregation. See Family News for details.
